Ole Edvard Antonsen - "Tour de Force" and "Penny Lane".

David Mason recorded the piccolo trumpet solo on Penny Lane, by Paul McCartney. In an interview Mason says the following about that:

"I was in the New Philharmonia then, now known simply as the Philharmonia, and still am.  I've spent a lifetime playing with top orchestras yet I'm most famous for playing on Penny Lane!"

The CD Tour de Force sold over 100,000 copies in Norway. The opening track is Honky Tonk Women. On this tune by Mick Jagger and Keith Richard, Antonsen "quotes" this famous solo from Penny Lane.

After winning the First Prize of the 1987 CIEM Competition Geneva, and the1989 UNESCO Competition Bratislava Ole Edvard Antonsen has toured the whole world as a classical artist. He performed with orchestras like Berlin Philharmonic, Dresdner Philharmonie, MDR Sinfonieorchester Leipzig, Museumsorchester Frankfurt, Orchester der Beethovenhalle Bonn, Orchestre de la Suisse Romande, Czech Philharmonic, English Chamber Orchestra, London Festival Orchestra, BBC National Orchestra of Wales, Orchestre National de Belgique, Prague Symphony, Atlanta Symphony, Bergen Philharmonic, Trondheim Symphony, Württembergisches Kammerorchester Heilbronn, Kioi Sinfonietta Tokyo, Israel Chamber Orchestra, New European Strings, Stockholm Chamber Orchestra, Australian Chamber Orchestra, Norwegian Chamber Orchestra and the Trondheim Soloists.

When he toured with the Tour de Force in Norway he was treated like at true rock artist and several thousand people came to the concerts.
