On behalf of the Jacobs family, I bring sad news as Arnold Jacobs passed away today, October 7, 1998. At this moment, no plans have been announced for funeral services.  I will post them as soon as they are available.

On December 24, 1938 Arnold and Gizella were married - nearly 60 years ago. I talked with both Gizella and their son Dallas (who was at home at the time). Both are grief stricken. While we all wish them well, they are not up to accepting the many phone calls that are expected. Dallas has asked me to try to take as many calls as I can as the word must be spread. While Mr. Jacobs was 83 years old, this was unexpected. Last night I talked with him for an hour as we were planning masterclasses in December. I had just sent out 3500 announcements about this yesterday!

I am sorry for this sketchy information, I was in downtown Chicago working when the news came and am currently on a train returning home. As more is known, I will update you.
