The equipment for making video clips are :1. Video camera (very common these days)
2. TV card (costs around 200 bucks)
3. Big hard disk! Capturing video with a TV card is transferred into AVI files. These easily swallows hundreds of megabytes.
4. The Free Real Media encoder. (Real Player is a very common decoder which also plays videos.)
5. Alternatively, an MPEG encoder. This yields better picture quality, but the files take more space. And many don't have a MPEG decoder installed.

When encoded, the files becomes very small with the new compression technology.
The files on my site are approx. 100 KBytes each.
