Oh yeah, I took lessons from Sigmund Hering, Nat Prager,Sam Krauss and Gil Johnson, but my best teacher was me.
Who can better assess playing weaknesses than the player?
A teacher can point a player in the right direction, but, the player must ultimately decide where he wants to go and what it will take to get there. I learn as much from being around trumpet players as I did from studying with them.
Sometimes you can learn more by watching a great.
I was, and still am a student.
It was worth the money, Jared, just to sit close to Mr. McNab.
