As a member of the trumpet section in Lionel Hamptons Band, Clifford Brown played two concerts at Colosseum Cinema in Oslo, Norway, Sunday the 6th of September 1953 (at 13.00 and 23.15). After returning from the tour through Europe and North-Africa the band gave a new concert two months later, the 7th of November.
In a review in a local newspaper, Dagbladet, there is no mention of Clifford or the other players except Hampton. According to the journalist, the best solos was played by Lionel Hampton. Both concerts were sold out and the people were very enthusiastic. The band opened with the tune "How High The Moon" and they played other swing tunes like "Mop Mop" and "Flying Home" (but no bebop).
